Evolve Automation completed the commercial low-voltage and technology integration for Azur, formerly known as City North, a new-construction luxury multifamily development by Greystar in North Phoenix, Arizona.
The approximately 312-unit community consists of a seven-story residential building, rooftop pool and amenity areas, and an attached covered parking garage. Evolve Automation provided a comprehensive technology infrastructure encompassing structured cabling, fiber backbone infrastructure, cloud-based access control, visitor entry, IP surveillance, commercial audio/video, networking, and Control4 automation.
Completed in March 2026, the project required extensive coordination across multiple trades and technology platforms to create a centralized, scalable system capable of supporting property management, resident access, security, and amenity operations throughout the development.

Structured Cabling & Fiber Infrastructure
The structured cabling system serves as the backbone for the property’s connected technology systems.
Evolve Automation’s infrastructure scope included:
- Cat6 structured cabling
- Single-mode fiber backbone
- Fiber distribution from the MPOE to nine IDF closets
- One primary MDF
- Nine IDF network closets
- Commercial network infrastructure
- PoE infrastructure supporting surveillance and connected devices
- MDF/IDF equipment organization and buildout
The fiber backbone and MDF/IDF topology were designed to provide reliable connectivity throughout the seven-story development while supporting the property’s access control, surveillance, networking, and amenity technology systems.
Commercial Access Control
Evolve Automation installed a cloud-managed Brivo access control system throughout Azur to provide secure and manageable access for residents, staff, visitors, and property management.
The access control deployment included:
- 53 access-controlled doors
- 53 electric door strikes
- 53 Brivo smart readers
- Cloud-based credential management
- Resident access management
- Amenity access integration
- Remote system administration
The Brivo platform gives property management centralized control over access credentials while creating a scalable system capable of supporting ongoing resident turnover and operational changes.
ButterflyMX Visitor Entry
Visitor access was integrated using ButterflyMX video intercom technology.
The project includes:
- 3 ButterflyMX video intercoms
- 2 guest-entry intercoms
- 1 garage-entry intercom
- Integrated visitor management
- Resident-controlled guest access
The system provides residents and property management with a streamlined method for managing visitor entry while complementing the broader Brivo access control infrastructure.
Eagle Eye Cloud Video Surveillance
Evolve Automation designed and installed a comprehensive IP surveillance system using the Eagle Eye Cloud Video Management System.
The surveillance infrastructure includes:
- 106 Illumivue 5MP IP dome cameras
- Night-color camera technology
- Eagle Eye Cloud VMS
- 48TB of video storage
- 7 Eagle Eye cloud recorders
- PoE-based camera infrastructure
- Centralized remote video management
The cloud-managed surveillance platform gives property management centralized visibility across the development while providing scalable storage and remote system access.
Control4 Amenity Automation
Evolve Automation integrated Control4 automation throughout key resident amenity spaces on the first and seventh floors.
The automation system provides centralized control of audio and video systems using:
- 7 in-wall Control4 touchscreens
- 4 touchscreens on the first floor
- 3 touchscreens on the seventh floor
- 2 Control4 Core controllers
- 2 Control4 8×8 audio matrix systems
The system allows staff and authorized users to easily manage amenity technology through a consistent, user-friendly interface.
Commercial Audio & Video
Amenity spaces throughout Azur were equipped with integrated commercial audio and video systems.
Commercial Displays
Evolve Automation installed:
- 7 Samsung commercial televisions
- 4 displays on the first floor
- 3 displays on the seventh floor
Indoor Distributed Audio
The indoor audio system includes:
- 22 in-ceiling speakers
- 14 speakers on the first floor
- 8 speakers on the seventh floor
Outdoor Audio
Outdoor amenity areas feature a Sonance Garden Series 8.1 audio system, including:
- 8 landscape satellite speakers
- 1 outdoor subwoofer
- Professional amplification
- Integration with the property’s Control4 automation system
LEA Professional amplification was incorporated into the overall audio infrastructure to support reliable commercial-grade performance.
